A Blooming Success: 2024 Iowa Regional Lily Society Flower Show at Reiman Gardens

Last weekend, my husband and I traveled to Ames, Iowa to visit, among other things, the Reiman Gardens at the Iowa State University campus. And I was thrilled to find that the 2024 Iowa Regional Lily Society was holding its Annual Flower Show, at the picturesque Reiman Gardens.

Founded on a shared love for these majestic blooms, the society welcomes members from all walks of life—novices to seasoned gardeners alike. Their annual gatherings, where fragrances mingle with friendly conversations, are a testament to the power of nature to bring people together. Beyond the petals, the Iowa Regional Lily Society fosters a spirit of learning and sharing. Workshops on propagation techniques and pest management provide invaluable insights, empowering members to grow their gardens with confidence and expertise.

This year's event brought together lily enthusiasts from across the region to showcase and admire a spectacular array of lilies. You can tell the love and commitment that goes into growing these beautiful specimens, with gardeners vying for top honors. Reiman Gardens provided the perfect backdrop for the show, with its lush landscapes seen through the glass windows, enhancing the vibrant displays. The centerpiece arrangement, featuring a breathtaking blend of colors and forms, was truly captivating.

This was my favorite lily there. She is a stunning specimen.
