Hello, friends! Our gardens are finally blooming and I am able to join one of my favorite link-ups— In a Vase on Monday, hosted by Cathy at Ramblings in the Garden. I’ve always loved that link-up because I love to see how other gardeners use their imagination to create beautiful arrangements with whatever is available in their gardens during the seasons. Now on to today’s post!
Yesterday we celebrated Father’s Day and had a lovely gathering at the home farm, where my in-laws live. We spend a lot of time there, and truly— it is a beautiful farm. My mother-in-law is a phenomenal gardener and I love learning from her. To add a special touch to the table, we got the boys to help create this arrangement.
I love the combination of colors and textures from the flowers they picked. And we think they did a lovely job. The flowers used are:
Yellow loosestrife (Lysimachia)
Japanese astilbe (Astilbe)
Creeping Bellflower (Campanula)
Beauty Bush (Kolkwitzia)
Tansies (Tanacetum)
Lilacs (Syringa)
Hosta
For a vase, we used a pumpkin-shaped jar in a pale yellow that really complemented with the colors of the flowers. In all, this small arrangement lend a very festive look to our table, while not being in the way or block people from having a conversation. This may be one of my favorite arrangements we’ve done for a table, and the boys were proud of their creation,
