Easiest Ooey Gooey Butter Pecan Cinnamon Rolls

There is nothing like fall to make me try all the sweets. It’s pretty hilarious because during the rest of the year, this is not my cup of tea. I am more of the savory kind. But there is something about the days getting cooler and shorter, the fire crackling in the fire stove, and the blankets that come out to ward off the chill, that makes me crave comforting based goods. And this is my latest foray with baking— Butter Pecan Cinnamon Rolls.

I normally also do not like ooey gooey desserts. NORMALLY, but when I saw this on Instagram, I just had to try it. Dubbed the “Tik Tok Cinnamon Rolls,” the big thing about this recipe is that it is made with Pillsbury cinnamon rolls that are then taken to next level delicious by adding other ingredients. The original recipe does not include the butter pecans, so this is now an adapted recipe. LOL. I have to admit that usually I am snob of store-bought doughs because of all the preservatives, BUT I am not against it once in a while. And this recipe is perfect for when you have company coming unexpectedly or need a dessert last minute (anyone with kids can identify with this, right?). Furthermore, this may be my now most favorite gooey dessert. I mean, look at this!

Look, my baking pan is not pretty, so focus on the cinnamon rolls. And you know what else is not pretty? Eating it with your hands, which we all did. But it sure was fun and delicious! :) I hope you try them!

You can see the melted deliciousness in the pan, rolling down the other rolls. Yum!

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) melted salted butter

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

For topping:

  • 1/2 stick of salted butter

  • 2/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1/3 cup heavy cream

  • dash of cinnamon

  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350F

  • Using cooking spray, spray a 9x13 baking pan

  • Remove the cinnamon rolls from the containers and place them in the pan making sure they touch (or as close as possible).

  • Pour the heavy cream over the rolls.

  • In a bowl combine the rest of the ingredients for the rolls and then pour over the rolls. Bake for 30-35 minutes.

For the topping:

  • In a saucepan, melt the butter, then combine the rest of the ingredients

  • Add the pecans and mix until coated.

  • Remove and set aside.

  • Once rolls finish baking, pour the topping mix over the rolls and watch the magic happen. Ensure that each roll get a good dose of pecans on top. And serve!

My spatula flattened the side of the roll because we were inpatient and couldn’t wait for it to cool down. LOL.
