Goodbye, March! You were absolutely wonderful, especially when it came to books. My bibliophile heart was so happy. March truly spoiled me with amazing reads, from romance to romtasy, dark academia, thrillers, mystery, suspense, and even garden love—March had a little bit of everything! Some were books I purchased, some were ARCs (that I then bought because I loved them so much... I know, I have a problem), and even my first audiobook in ages.
Now, April is here with new books and fresh stories, ready to captivate and hopefully pull me into their worlds. But before we jump into April, let’s look at how March fared.
My Goodreads goal for the year is right on track—actually, I’m slightly ahead of schedule! But when you're enjoying the books as much as I am, you don’t even notice how quickly the pages are turning. And yes, I do have a full-time job, but reading gives me the perfect way to shut off from work at the end of the day and gives my mind the mental break it needs to transition into the evening. On top of that, I'm doing really well with my NetGalley ratio—currently sitting at 86%! I'm reading the last one on my shelf for now (the one I had technical issues opening, so I couldn’t give feedback), and it's been such a satisfying journey!
For ratings, I like to use a simple guideline on a 5-star scale (you can see my rating guidelines here. I only reserve 5 stars for books that truly wow me—books that stand out as memorable and special in some way. Which makes it feels meaningful!
While I loved all the March books, there was a clear favorite for Book of the Month for me. I simply loved The Quiet Librarian by Allen Eskens. This book was beyond phenomenal, and I felt such a deep emotional connection to it, especially since I’ve seen the aftermath of some of the pivotal events it explores (you can read my review here). I have been recommending this book to everyone I know.
As you can see, March was an absolute whirlwind of incredible reads, and I couldn’t have asked for a better bookish month. As I bid farewell to March, I’m looking forward to April and all the new stories it will bring. There are so many books on my radar, and I can’t wait to dive into them! Here’s to another month of unforgettable reading! Happy reading!
