In a Vase on Monday ~ summer white flowers

Summer flowers are blooming everywhere and I am ecstatic. Between the wildflowers and those delicate “cottage flowers” I planted, my garden is coming to life after the dahlias failure this year. And when it comes to displaying summer flowers, I am all about using my favorites— milkglass. If you’ve been to my blog before, you know I love milkglass. I love the feminine look and that Edwardian quality of it. But most of all I love how it just makes any bloom pop. And then there are the times when it just complements the blooms, like with the blooms in sharing today— and all white little arrangement of Cosmos Bipinnatus “Psyche White” and Daucus Carota or “Queen Anne’s Lace” (QAL).

This is my first year growing this Cosmos and I really like the almost papery thin petals. And for this arrangement I chose the beautiful QAL because the delicate look goes beautifully with the Cosmos.

To display them, I went with a slender milkglass vase that has an art deco look to it. Again, I think it’s a nice contrast to that complements the blooms.

In all, I think it’s a lovely little arrangement that just reminds me of lazy summers sipping on tea. Have a wonderful week, my friends.
