Simple Doggie Treat Recipe that Your Dog Will Enjoy
My dog Riley, lives for food. And he is all about treats. But can I be honest? Treats are ridiculously expensive. I am convinced the pet industry knows that there are suckers out there like me who will do anything to make sure their dogs have a healthy diet they enjoy. And so, the rack up the price of treats.
And look, it is not that I am being cheap, but a bag of quality doggie treats can cost, at a minimum, $8.99. And the bags are mostly full or air… not treats. So I am all about finding ways to save money. Treat included.
The ones I am sharing today, I cannot take credit for. The recipe was included with the Nordic Ware baking pan I used. It is for Peanut Butter Doggie Biscuits. And it is super simple to make. So much that I think it would be a super fun recipe to make with kids. See below for the recipe.
Peanut Butter Doggie Bones (via Nordic Ware)
Ingredients
2 eggs
1/3 cup peanut butter
1 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup corn meal
Steps
Preheat oven to 325°F. Prepare Puppy Love Treat Pan with baking spray and evenly coat wells with a pastry brush.
Whisk eggs and peanut butter together. Add oats and corn meal.
Firmly press dough into each well, filling nearly to the top. Do not overfill the wells.
Bake for 13-15 minutes or until treats are slightly brown on the edges.
Cool treats in pan for 3-5 minutes. Loosen edges and carefully remove treats and place on a cooling rack.
** Recipe says it makes about 32. This yielded 22 treats when I made it.
ENJOY!!!
